I was up against Mike Forster in the semi-final of the club knockout last night. The game eventually ended as a draw with only kings left. This means a replay will be required, the date of which remains to be confirmed.
The game started with White choosing a solid line against the King’s Indian. Initially, Black seemed to have a comfortable position, but a couple of inferior moves landed him in a worse endgame. The assessment of the endgame flipped between a White win and a draw as both sides made errors. Eventually, the game was drawn with bare kings.
