Horsham Club Championship 2021-22: Mansson – Broom

Yesterday, I played my first club championship game for over a year. I was up against Mark Broom with the White pieces. The game worked its way towards an apparently solid draw, as the players both ran short of time and decided to call it a day. However, subsequent analysis revealed a different story.

Firstly, it appears White acquired some advantage out of the opening, but allows this to slip away. Secondly, shortly before the draw was agreed, Black blundered, but White did not spot the opportunity to win material.

I give the game below with some notes.
