4NCL Division 3 2013-14: e2e4.org.uk 2 – Celtic Tigers 1

Unlike our match in the previous range against Oxford 2, the match against Celtic Tigers 1 went down to the wire. With the score at 3-2 in our favour, Adam Taylor managed to hold a tricky endgame to give us a 3.5-2.5 win.

My game against Carsten Pedersen was a complicated affair, which started off as an English Opening, but ended up as a sort of reversed French Defence. I had a reasonable position out of the opening, but played a series of weak moves from move 20 onwards. I rapidly found myself in a difficult position, from which I was unable to escape.

I give the game below with some notes.
