Champion’s Simul 2012

The now traditional Club Champion’s simul against all comers opening the new season last Tuesday. As noted in my previous post, Mike Forster and I attempted to play off last season’s Quickplay Knockout final beforehand, but were tied at 1-1 when it was time for the simul to begin.

Dix Roberts played more ambitiously than Phil Stimpson did in his simul last year. Ian Comley has written a report of the event on the Horsham Chess Club website, and the full results are listed here (logged in members only). My game ended in a draw after a few adventures. I give it below with some notes.
