Horsham Club Championship 2010-11: Stimpson – Mansson

It doesn’t now like I shall be able to complete all my club championship games, although I did manage to play another just after the Quickplay Knockout Final last night.

The game, against Phil Stimpson as Black, was ultimately frustrating. After a period of manoeuvring, White decided on a dubious sacrifice of the exchange, as he needed to win because of his tournament position. Initially I defended well, but then became careless, and allow him to general strong threats, while I proved unable to repel.

The game is given below, with some brief notes on the latter stages.
