Horsham Club Championship 2012-13: Mansson – Harbott

Last Tuesday I played my second Rook game of the season. I was pitted against Peter Harbott, whom I have played many times, most recently in the Horsham 1 – Horsham 2 match, where I contrived to lose from a vastly superior position.

In this game, Peter employed the same basic opening line but with colours reversed. I soon built up a strong position, and then, following a weak 12th move, a winning position. However, I then allowed Peter to wriggle out by playing first 17 Bxc6+? and then 20 Qd2?! White still had some pressure

I give the game below with some notes.
