Mid-Sussex League Division 1 2019-20: Horsham 1 – Haywards Heath 1

The Horsham 1 team continued its good form with a 3.5-1.5 win away to Haywards Heath 1. I drew as White against Viv Cole in an interesting game. At one point my opponent appeared to have blundered a piece, and indeed he thought it was a blunder; however, after looking at the position for a while, I correctly decided that winning the piece was too risky, and chose a quieter line. Indeed, when I agreed the draw I stood very well, but because of my time shortage, and also the match position, I accepted my opponent’s proposal.

I give the game below with some notes.
