Last Tuesday I was up against Hamish Hockings in the Horsham club knockout. I had the Black pieces. Following a quiet opening, I was able to play an enterprising pawn sacrifice following some inaccurate play by my opponent; however, I failed to find the most incisive move at the critical moment, and after some complications the game eventually ended up as a draw.
