Last Tuesday I was up against Sam Forbes in the sixth round of the Club Championship. I managed a decisive win, taking me to five points out of six.
I had the Black pieces and the game started with a King’s Indian Defence. Following some inaccuracies on both sides, mostly from White, my opponent made a serious error, which allowed me to build up a strong kingside attack. I brought this to a successful conclusion without allowing him back into the game at any point; my opponent resigned facing mate on the next move.
I give the game below with some notes.
