Mid-Sussex League Division 1 2019-20: Horsham 1 – Hastings 2

Horsham 1’s recent match against Hastings 2 was a frustrating draw. Both Mark Broom and I had chances to win our games, but failed to do so.

In my game, play followed known paths until White’s surprising but bad 14th move. I failed to find the best response to this, and despite play continuing for many moves after, at no point did I seem to have any concrete winning chances. The game ended in a draw with both players running short of time.

I give the game below with some notes.
