Last night Horsham 1 defeated Bexhill 1 decisively by 3.5 to 0.5. I contributed a win on board four against Bill Tracey.
I was White and the game started with the Budapest Gambit. I managed to get the better of the opening and establish a substantial advantage. This led in due course to me winning material. I was then fortunate that my opponent then exchanged into an endgame that was lost for him; I then proceeded to make heavy weather of this, but did ultimately manage to hold things together and convert my position to a win.
