4NCL Division 3 2011-12: e2e4.org.uk 2 – KJCA Kings
Our match against KJCA Kings in round six was a disaster. Only Samuel Milson secured a draw in a 5.5-0.5 drubbing. My game saw me miscalculating against Andrew Green and going down in flames.

4NCL Division 3 2011-12: e2e4.org.uk 2 – Celtic Tigers 1
In round 5 of the 4NCL, e2e4.org.uk 2 managed a dramatic turn-around against Celtic Tigers 1. After going 2-0 down with losses on the top two boards, wins on the bottom two saw them draw level. After David Coates had … Continue reading

4NCL Division 3 2011-12: e2e4.org.uk 2 – Anglian Avengers 2
There was a better result for the e2e4.org.uk second team in round 4, where they narrowly defeated Anglian Avengers 2. Again there was only one decisive result, with Richard Almond winning against Ivan Myall. My game against Timothy Lunn was … Continue reading

4NCL Division 3 2011-12: e2e4.org.uk 2 – Cambridge University 3
The e2e4.org.uk second team stumbled to a loss in round 3 of the 4NCL against Cambridge University 3. Although the margin of defeat was the narrowest possible (2.5 – 3.5), something seemed to go wrong in most of our games, … Continue reading

4NCL Division 3 2011-12: e2e4.org.uk 2 – Guildford 3
Unlike the match on the previous day, our match against Guildford 3 was a much tighter affair, which we just managed to win 3.5-2.5. An amusing aspect of the line up, for me anyway, was that our opponents, Guildford 3, … Continue reading

4NCL Division 3 2011-12: e2e4.org.uk 2 – 3Cs 2
Last weekend saw the first two rounds of the new 4NCL season. I was again playing for e2e4.org.uk. In round 1, I was on board 6 for the second team against 3Cs 2. We heavily outgraded our opponents and managed … Continue reading

4NCL Division 3 2010-11: e2e4.org.uk 2 – Spirit of Atticus
Round 11 saw the e2e4.org.uk second team fell agonisingly short of promotion, as we were only able to draw with Spirit of Atticus. There were only two decisive games in the match; James Jackson won for e2e4.org.uk, but I lost … Continue reading

Round 10 saw e2e4.org.uk 2 stay in the hunt for promotion with a comfortable win over Oxford 2. Alan Byron, Andy Talbot and I all scored wins, while the rest of the team drew.

4NCL Division 1 2010-11: e2e4.org.uk 1 – Cheddleton 1
I was promoted to the first team just for round 9, as part of Sean’s policy of playing all 2100+ players in the squad in the top division at least once during the season. The team was soundly beaten 6-2 … Continue reading
